What do women want

As someone said women in their thirties want to get married and have children. They get married and have children. Then they get divorced. Than they want to get married again so that someon can pay for it all.

Lemon Tree

Here is an old song that I heard way back when I was living in Russia. I didn't know who sang it or what the song was about. I am ecstatic to have found it here.

Tom Petty, American girl

Here is another great old song I love. I first heard it when my ex introduced me to it. He claimed he worked for Tom Petty way back when as a sound engineer but I have no proof of that, so I guess I have to take his word for it.

Another great song from the 2003

Here is a great song I kept hearing on the radio while driving on the job. Back in 2003 I was working as a tech support for CitiBank and my job entailed a lot of driving from branch to branch. 92.7 was a new radio station back then and they played all the best songs and no commercials. I was upset when the radio station dissapeared off the face of the earth for a while. This was one of the songs they played.

Turkey vacation 2003

In the summer of 2003 I spent a couple of weeks in Turkey. I have to say, Turkish men are hot.

Leonard Cohen - The Future

Leonard Cohen is one of my favorite of all times. This video features violent episodes, and while I am personally against violence, I was not able to locate a more mild video, so if you are under 18 years of age, this video is inappropriate for you.

All the Things She Said - t.A.T.u.

Here is a great song by t.A.T.u. I think t.A.T.u. is a talented duet and I really love this song. This song was very popular a few years ago. I used to hear it constantly on 92.7 (Bay Area alternative radio station) but like all the good things it has come to its end. I've fetched this video that I am posting here on my blog. I was trying to find one without the underage girls kissing, but apparently lesbianism has recently become such hit in the Russian media, that they promote it all over the place, so no concervative version of the video was available. Enjoy!

Alena Apina Song

Here is another great old song. I think I was in my early twenties when this song was a hit in Russia. The premise of the song is this: a girl is being dumped. Basically her loved one or boyfriend is gone on a late-night train. Still, the song is fun and cheering, and is basically suggesting it'll all get better.

Performance by Alla Pugacheva

Alla Pugacheva (I hope I spelled it right). This song was my favorite way back when about twelve years ago. I had just returned from Sri Lanka when this song became popular in Russia. For some reason I kept listening to it and it called me back to Sri Lanka. No wonder, I had met some sailor in the island, and back then it seemed awefully romantic.

Billy Idol - Sweet 16

Here is another one of my favorite songs. For some reason it reminds me on my first time in Santa Barbara. I had just purchased a CD of Billy Idol and was listening to it pretty much all the way to Santa Barbara. Crazy, I know.

We stayed at El Encante Hotel. Perched above the red tile roofs of Santa Barbara, California and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and surrounded by lush foliage, El Encante is a peaceful oasis for romantic relaxation, nestled into the elegant comfort of a California Craftsman or Spanish Colonial Revival-style cottage. Although the place itself iss not overly modern, it features the best restaurant in the whole Santa Barbara, or at least that's what I was told by the locals.

Probably the best about El Encante is the view. The hotel sits on the hills of Santa Barbara, and the view from the lawn and the dining patio is incredible. If you ever find yourself in Santa Barbara, El Encante Restaurant is the place to visit. The menu is fantastic (and VERY expensive), but it's well worth it. And if the weather allows, make sure to get the patio seatings (they have heaters that could be turned on at night). You will enjoy a thousand dollar view. See for yourself.

Chris Isaak "Graduation Day"

One of my favorite artists is Chris Isaak. For the first time I saw Chris Isaak in person at a concert at the Wente Winery in Livermore, CA a couple of years ago. One of my personal favorites is his "Graduation Day" song.
